50 jaar diplomatieke betrekkingen
Op 4 april jl. vierden NL en Zuid-Korea 50 jaar diplomatieke betrekkingen. Gedurende het jaar 2011 worden een aantal culturele en economische activiteiten georganiseerd in Den Haag en Seoel om de viering luister bij te zetten. Zo ontving de burgemeester van Seoel uit handen van ambassadeur Menkveld een enorme bos Nederlandse tulpen ter gelegenheid van de jubileum dag en waren zowel op het plein nabij het stadshuis als in het populaire pretpark “Everland” tulpenbollen c.q. een tulpenpark te bewonderen. Eind april bezocht een Speciaal Gezant van de president van Korea, mevrouw Park, Nederland. Zij ontmoette o.a. H.M. de Koningin aan wie zij een felicitatiebrief van de president overhandigde. Tijdens het jaarlijkse event “Game in the City” host het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, in samenwerking met Dutch Games Association en Game in the City op 24 november een presentatie en een workshop over Serious Games in Korea.
