Rob Davis
Rob Davis founded Playniac and has been game designer and producer for many games productions, as well as programmer for quite a few. His games include International Racing Squirrels (Channel 4), The Big Generation Green Quiz (British Gas), Battlefield Academy (BBC History), Alien Farm (CBBC), Springwatch Trackers (CBBC), Kung Fu Panda The Adversary and The Field of Fiery Death (Nickelodeon / Dreamworks), The Lost Army of Fu Shi (BBC Bitesize), Fashion Fixer (UKTV), Feel Up (Getty Images), First Aid Action (BBC), and Survive Dickens’ London (BBC Drama).
He has written about games in The Guardian and Develop magazine, and spoken at industry conferences such as Develop, Eurogamer and GDC Europe. His mass participation “game about game design” Cat On Yer Head has been performed at UK comedy night Bright Club, GDC Europe, Germany and in Oct 2011 will be featured at two events at Game City, UK. It has also become part of a game design course in the Netherlands.
He has also created digital art installations that have been shown internationally at venues in the UK, Holland and the USA. He graduated in Computer Engineering at the University of Bristol with a thesis on artificial intelligence and created his first commercial game, a text adventure that reached number one in the UK game charts, at age 14.
