			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>The fourth edition of Game in the City will be held in Amersfoort on 24 and 25 November 2011. An important component of this two-day conference is the presentation of the Dutch Game Awards – the most important awards in the Dutch gaming industry. New to the programme this year is the presentation of the Games for Health Europe Awards, an international distinction for serious games in the healthcare sector. </strong></p>
<p>Game in the City will announce the presentation of the new Games for Health Europe Awards during Gamescom 2011, the international trade fair for the interactive entertainment industry held in Cologne this month. The Games for Health Europe Awards, a collaboration between the Games for Health Europe Foundation and Game in the City, consists of two categories: a professional award presented by a panel of experts and a public prize presented by participants of the Games for Health Europe conference.</p>
<p><strong>Dutch Game Awards<br />
</strong>The Dutch Game Awards has 13 award categories including Best Serious Game, Best Mobile/Handheld Game, Best Online Game and Best Student Game. The winners will be chosen by a panel of experts. The presentation of the Dutch Game Awards will be held during the Control Industry Dinner on 24 November. Entry is now open for all categories and candidates can register online at <a href="http://www.dutchgameawards.nl">www.dutchgameawards.nl</a>.</p>
<p><strong>Game in the City 2011<br />
</strong>The central theme of this year’s Game in the City is Connecting the Dots – linking people, products and ideas. Several national and international keynote speakers have been invited to share their vision and experiences in the field of game development and game technology, and the potential for applications in the business and healthcare sectors. Participants can also attend various workshops and meet with rising talents and businesses will be able to hold informative presentations during the Trade Fair.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Registration opens for the Dutch Game Awards 2011</strong></p>
<p>This year the fourth edition of the Dutch Game Awards will be awarded during the event Game in the City on November 24 and 25 in Amersfoort. The Dutch Game Awards is a showcase of the Achievements of the Dutch Game Industry, highlighting both the quality and quantity of games produced in the Netherlands. The purpose of the Awards is to spotlight the achievements of the Dutch Game industry and to promote The Netherlands as a game development country to the world.</p>
<p>The Dutch Game Awards will be awarded in 12 different categories. The category Best Student Game is created for students. This category is now open for registration to give students the opportunity to register before the start of the summer holidays.</p>
<p>Last year a student team of the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) won the prestigious Best Student Award with their game Paper Cakes. The team also received the award for Best Original Game Design.</p>
<p>The award for Best Student Game is open to any game developed by students who, on completion of the game, were registered as a student at a Dutch educational institution. A playable demo version of the game must be available. Registration until September 19, 2011.</p>
